Journal Entries (revised)

Dear Diary, All the days of my life I have never encountered such judgment and cruelty from people who claim to be Puritans. I never thought that I would have to go through the torment and accusations of being witch. Just because I was seen dancing with Betty Parris before she calapsed, doesn't mean I was performing witchcraft on her. And for people to have the audacity to accuse me is just obsurd. I am the niece of Richard Parris, so everyone should believe me, but not even he belives me and thats a sad occurrence. I wish I could have the support of my family, but i guess they just don't want to believe me.

Dear Diary, I know I truly mean something to "Johnny Boy". He is just trying to play hard to get, but I know he wants me. Why would he like that old biddy named Elizabeth. I am so much better than her in so many ways. I'm better looking than her, and I'm way younger than her. Who would want to make babies with a woman who is so war out? She is ancient and disgusting and I cannout stand her! Why does "Johnny Boy" even like her? I don't understand his attraction to her, if there's even an attraction.

Dear Diary, I am so enraged! How Dare "Johnny Boy" disrespect me in front of all those people in court yesterday. I deserve to be treated with more respect than he shows me. First I don't get to be his woman and now he's trying to put me away! I surely don't believe that Johnny Boy is done with me, but he surely does act like it. I am determined to get him to be mine and not one person is going to stop me. Elizabeth is a non-factor meaning she will not get in the way of my love for Johnny Boy. I love him with all my heart, and I wish he could understand that.

Dear Diary, How dare Elizabeth Proctor relieve me from my job. I know that was the past, but I shall get my revenge for everything she has done wrong to me! For I am invincible and no one should ever cross my path like Elizabeth has! She definately should sleep with one eye open every night. You know that little poppet Mary Warren was making in court? Well I shall make one and plant it at the Proctor's house. Then their house shall be investigated and Elizabeth will be jailed. THen Johnny Boy and I can live happily ever after without the encumbrance of Elizabeth. I bet Johnny Boy will feel so relieved when Elizabeth falls off the face of the earth. I can just feel the excitement now.

Dear Diary, For Mary Warren to accuse me of making a poppet and stabbing it with a needle is true. But the only reason I did it was to get back at Elizabeth. On a daily basis I would make poppets and stab it with a needle, but this calls for special attention. And by special attention, I mean I want something major to happen. Even something that I never thought about. That would be awesome and Elizabeth will finally get what she deserves.

Direct/ Indirect Characterization (TIc-Tac-Toe)

Direct: Reverend Parris: " He believed he was being persecuted wherever he went." - 1) Insecure 2) hypocrite because he persecuted many people often.

Indirect:
John Proctor: "God does not need my name nailed upon the church! God sees my name; God knows how black my sins are! It is enough!"- 1) He is a man of integrity because he refused to turn back on his values. 2) Steadfast because he stands firm on his decision to not confess.

Abigail: "I want to open myself!...I want the light of God, I want the sweet love of Jesus! I dancied for the Devil." 1) She is a phony because she said that so wouldn't be persecuted. 2) She is a liar because her real intention was not to follow God, but it was to do the oppposite. For example, she wanted to continue the affair with John Proctor.

Literary Device

Blacklist actors song (Tic-tac-toe)

Integrity
To believe in integrity,
to believe it true,
it's the right thing to do.
Stand for your rights,
have you pride,

Follow you heart,
that's where it should start.
Let it lead you,
don't be a fool.

Choose what's right,
it is fine.
It may not be fair,
for you to choose.

Start from your heart.
Don't depart,
from your integrity,
That's what you need!
